About the Tinto Amor project
Tinto Amor is a groundbreaking reforestation project based in Campeche, Mexico, aimed at addressing both global climate challenges and local socio-economic issues. We restore forests, provide alternative income streams, and contribute to climate solutions by:
- Extracting Haematoxylin: Used in Medicine and Pharma Industry
- Generating Biomass: Used in eco-innovation and renewable energy
- Creating Tradable CO2 Certificates: Supporting sustainability efforts
The project creates opportunities for eco-innovation, homeopathic agriculture, and sustainable economic development. It tackles local social inequality, ecological degradation, and economic dependency, all while contributing to the global fight against climate change.

How we work
Cultivation image
Cultivation
We plant 150,000 Tinto trees on 125 hectares each year, for 8 years, leading to 1,200,000 trees across 1,000 hectares. This commercial reforestation supports the project financially while preserving the remaining forest.
Reforestation image
Reforestation
Starting in year 9, we begin harvesting and replanting, with trees reaching heights of 8-12 meters and a diameter of 16 cm.
Harvest & Processing image
Harvest & Processing
We process Haematoxylin (60% of sales), sell biomass for renewable energy (30% of sales), and trade CO2 certificates (10% of sales).
Ecological Impact image
Ecological Impact
Each hectare filters 45 tons of CO2 per year. We use biochar from tree branches to enrich the soil and store CO2 long-term.
